Student and staff safety is our top priority. Due to the extreme heat advisory and significant rise in temperatures in Tulare County, Burton School District has implemented a “rainy-day” schedule for all schools on Tuesday, September 6th through Friday, September 9, 2022 . All outdoor practices and games held on Tuesday, will be scheduled in the cooler hours of the morning, postponed, or canceled. Please take this time to talk with your student about the following ways to beat the heat:
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day and avoid sugary drinks and foods. Please have your child bring a water bottle with their name on it that they can reuse.
Dress lightly: Wear light-weight, light-colored, loose fitting clothing to help reduce sun exposure and prevent excessive heat absorption. Please no sandals without an ankle strap.
Limit outdoor activities. Have your child apply sunscreen before school.
Parents/guardians will be notified this week of any future heat advisory information.
