New Superintendent Named

Sergio Mendoza

We hope everyone will join the staff at Burton in welcoming Mr. Sergio Mendoza as he officially started in his new role on November 19th.  The Burton Board of Trustees appointed Mr. Mendoza as the superintendent of Burton School District at the board meeting on November 13th.

Mr. Mendoza joins us from Porterville Unified School District where he served as the Director of Curriculum and Educational Technology.  He had been with PUSD for just over four years in a director position that brought him many leadership experiences ranging from curriculum to data and assessment.   Mr. Mendoza is no stranger to Burton as he served as the Director of Categorical and Alternative Education Programs for eight years (2006-2014) prior to his employment at PUSD.

He is excited to get started in his new role and help insure that all Burton students continue to receive a high quality education.
